The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has urged petrol users to desist from panic buying.
In a statement, the NNPC Group General Manager Group Public Affairs Division, Mr. Garba Deen Muhammad assured that the current petrol shortage would soon be over
According to Mr Muhammed, Panic buying is making motorists converge in particular filling stations resulting into scarcity. especially in Abuja
He said that the problem had been largely resolved in Lagos and the queues in Abuja are reducing by the day.
Mr Muhammed disclosed that over 200 trucks laden with petrol have been supplied to Abuja and environs on Thursday 14th April 2016 and the trend will continue.
The NNPC Spokesman gave the assurance that the corporation was stepping up efforts to ensure that supply and distribution of products is not disrupted in any way.
While appealing to motorists to be orderly while waiting to buy petrol, he called on marketers to desist from hoarding the product.
