Plane makes emergency landing

Ene Okwanihe, Abuja

A plane belonging to MEd-view airline headed for Abuja and connecting to Yola from Lagos with passengers on board made an emergency landing back in Lagos at exactly 25 minutes after takeoff.

The plane with the number 0820 which took off from the Murtala Mohammed International airport at 9:am (Nigerian time) was turned back to Lagos after the pilot announced to the passengers 10 minutes after takeoff that the cargo door was not properly locked.

After landing passengers were asked to remain in their seats while engineers do the necessary checks on the plane.

Passengers aboard the flight were, however, disappointed at the level of negligence by the airline services and expect that the Nigerian Civil Authority will do something to avert such occurrences in the future.

The plane is expected to take off 30 minutes after refuelling and proper checks had been done by the engineers.
