Police arrest 23 suspects over robbery in Abuja

The Police Force in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, says it is ensuring adequate security in Abuja for normal activities to go on, especially as Muslims celebrate Eid-el-fitri.

The FCT’s Commissioner of Police, Mr. Alkali Usman stated this as 23 suspects were paraded at the command over offences bordering on car snatching and armed robbery.

Usman said that “3 pistols, 31 ammunition live rounds, 7 cars 1 truck, 1 master key and other stolen materials were recovered from the suspects.’’

The suspects had all confessed to the crimes committed and would be arraigned in Court.

Mr. Usman also called on the citizens of the FCT to take security as a collective responsibility and to always be security conscious in order to report any suspicious move around appropriately.

The Police Commissioner called on the Youth to desist from all forms of criminal activities, stressing that the police would deal with anyone caught in any form of crime.
