Police commiserates with families of Yola blast

The Inspector General of Police, Solomon E. Arase has commiserated with the families of those who lost their lives in the explosion at a Police Divisional Headquarters, Yola, Adamawa State, in North East on

According to a release signed by the Force Public Relation Officer, Mrs. Bisi kolawole, IGP Arase urged the citizens to remain calm as the Nigeria Police Force High Command has directed adequate security surveillance in places where recovered Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) are kept to prevent a recurrence of such incident across the country.

Mr. Arase has also directed all Commands’ Commissioners of Police to deploy Anti-Bomb Squad personnel of their respective State Commands to inspect all explosive elements kept in their armouries to ensure they are safe.

He said he has equally “directed the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Department of Operations, DIG Sontoye Wakama, to visit the scene of the blast in Adamawa State, to condole with the families of the deceased and to ensure that those that sustained injuries from the explosion receive prompt medical attention”.

The Police Chief called on the members of the public to go about their normal businesses without fear as all hands were on deck to ensure their safety at all times.
