Professor Bolaji Owasanoye has been appointed as the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC and Professor Musa Usman Abubakar the Secretary.
Twelve members also appointed are Dr. Grace N. Chinda, Okolo Titus, Barrister Obiora Igwedebia, Mrs. Olubukola Balogun, Group Captain Sam
Ewang (Rtd.), Justice Adamu Bello and Hannatu Mohammed. others are; Abdullahi Maikano Saidu, Dr. Sa’ad Alanamu, Yahaya Umar Dauda, Khamis Ahmed Mailantarki and Maimuna Aliyu.
Nigeria’s Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo made the appointment in Abuja.
The Chairman’s tenure is for five years while other members will serve for four years.
Mr Ekpo Nta, whose tenure expired as the Chairman of Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission ICPC, will now take the position of a Full-time Commissioner at the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, the same with Dauda Yahaya and Garba Musa Gulma.
Barrister Victoria Chukwuani, Mr. Geoffery Yeilong, Professor Ropo Shekoni and Ahmed Mahmud Gumel will serve as Part-time Commissioners.
The Permanent Secretary, Establishment, Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Labour & Productivity, Comrade Isa Aremu of the Nigeria Labour Congress and Mr. Chuma Nwankwo of Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association, NECA are to serve as members.
The new appointments are for a period of five years. The Chairman of the Commission is High Chief Richard Egbule, while Mr. E. A. Thompson is the Secretary. Both were appointed in August 2014.
Others are Siaka Idoko to serve as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Investment and Security Tribunal alongside the following as full-time members: Jude I. Udunni, Mr. Nosa Osemwengie, Abubakar A. Ahmad, Albert L. Otesile, Emeka Madubuike , Kasumi Garba Kurfi. Mr Edward O. Ajayi, Onyemaechi E. M. Elujekor, Mamman Bukar Zargana are part-time members.
Engineer Chidi Izuwah was also appointed the Director-General, Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission.
All the appointments are subject to confirmation by the Senate.
In another development, the Acting President, has also approved the setting up of a Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property.
The Chairman of the Panel is Okoi Obona-Obla, Special Assistant to the President on Prosecution and Mr. Akingbolahan Adeniran, is the Secretary to the Panel.
