Acting President Yemi Osinbajo said on Wednesday that President Muhammadu Buhari was recuperating very quickly and was in very high spirits.
Speaking with State House Correspondents who sought to know from him the outcome of his meeting with the president on Tuesday in London, Osinbajo said that the president was doing very well.
“He is in very good spirit, he is recuperating very quickly; he is doing very well,” he said, adding that “his humour is all there.”
The acting president said he went to see President Buhari and how he was doing.
“I went to see him to check up him, find out how he was doing. Of course, I’ve been speaking with him on the phone and I thought it would be a good thing to go and see him, generally check up on how he was doing and also brief him on developments back at home.”
Professor Osinbajo said he had a long conversation with President Buhari on wide range of issues, but said he could not give specifics on their discussions.
On when the president would be back in Nigeria, Osinbajo said: “We are expecting him back very shortly. Much sooner than you will expect.”
Professor Osinbajo said the report on the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation was not part of what they discussed at his meeting with the president.
He also didn’t say when the two new ministers confirmed by the Senate would be sworn in.
