President Buhari is not ill, not in hospital-Lai Mohammed

Cyril Okonkwo, Abuja

The Minister of Information and Culture, Mr. Lai Mohammed, has said President Muhammadu Buhari is neither ill nor in hospital, insisting that the president is well.

Mr. Mohammed stated this in response to a question asked by a reporter during the briefing after Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council meeting.

He said the business of government would not have been going on smoothly if the president was critically ill as being speculated in different quarters.

“Do you think that the President is ill and would be in danger and all of us would be going about our businesses like this?” Mohammed asked, assuring that the president is well and is absolutely in no danger.

He also said that President Buhari was transparent as he transmitted a letter to the National Assembly when he was going on leave and indicated that he would see his doctors while he was on leave.

He added that the President has always been on regular communication with the Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, stating that “president is well, he is hale and hearty and there is absolutely no cause for concern.”
