President Muhammadu Buhari has conveyed his appreciation to Nigerians for their constant prayers saying, he will soon be with them as he is recuperating fast.

The President’s message was channelled through his wife, Aisha, who just returned from the UK, where she went to visit her husband, who is on medical leave.

Mrs Buhari, who touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja, aboard a British Airways flight, assured Nigerians that her husband was recuperating very well.

She expressed President Buhari’s appreciation to citizens of the country.

“I thank God for the safe trip I had after visiting my husband in the UK. He is doing well, much better than when he left Nigeria and I wish to assure Nigerians that he is recuperating very well. The President thanks Nigerians for their constant prayers and steadfastness in the face of challenges,” she said.

She used the opportunity to convey President Buhari’s request to Nigerians.

“He is soliciting for the prayers of Nigerians, their cooperation and support for the Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, towards achieving the mandate of this administration as contained in the APC manifesto,” Mrs Buhari stated.

On when the President is expected back in the country, she simply said: “He still needs a lot of rest but as long as the Vice President is in control, we are in safe hands.”

It would be recalled that the President’s wife left Nigeria one week ago to spend time with the President, who is on medical vacation in London.
