President Buhari urges Muslim leaders to promote peace

Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, has called on Muslim leaders to always promote peace in their teachings.

The president who made the call at the International Islamic Conference in Abuja said Muslim leaders should imbibe the teaching of the holy Qur’an and improve in teaching to counter the diabolical ideology.

President Buhari who condemned the activities of boko haram said “ terrorist are pretending to be Muslim but Islam does not permit unlawful killing and it frowns against extremism and I’m very sure that no religion approves the killing of innocent people”

President Buhari therefore restated his administration‘s commitment to fighting terrorism and called on religious leaders and community leaders to mobilise their followers against corruption and crimes of any kind.

Good Leadership

On his part, the Sultan of Sokoto Sa’ad Abubar also called on rulers to be just and show good example of leadership.

‘’We should implement what Quran taught us and am very sure that it will bring peace and stability to our country’’

The Sultan who commended the organisers of the conference for making it a multi religion, said “this conference is coming at the right time because it brings all the Islamic ulama together and this showed that Islam is religion of unity and peace so Islamic leaders should impact positive knowledge of Islam’’

He therefore urged Muslims to pray for the administration of President Buhari as he said prayer is the weapon of all Muslims.

The conference whit the theme “Security Stability In The Face Of Contemporary Challenges” attracted dignitaries from different parts of the world.
