Rangers urged to win remaining NPFL matches

The management of Rangers International FC of Enugu has advised its players and coaches to redouble their efforts to sustain their winning formula till the end of the league.

The club’s Media Director, Foster Chime, said on Wednesday that the General Manager, Paul Chibuzor and a Board member, Steve Oruruo, gave the advice after the team’s training at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

Rangers are currently in second position in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) table with 51 points from 30 matches.

The team has seven more matches to play before the end of the NPFL 2015/2016 league.

“The board members were emphatic on the above average performance of the players during the Match Day 30 encounter against FC Ifeanyi Ubah on Aug. 17 in Nnewi.

“They advised the players to overcome any challenge that will affect their next match,’’ he said.

According to him, the players cannot allow the leadership of the league slip from their hand now that the team is among the best two.

“We pray to win the trophy for the first time in 31 years.

“The club’s fans and philanthropists, including Festus Onu have made some monetary promises which they have redeemed,’’ he said.

Chime said that the management had implored the players to put in their best to win the remaining matches and make history.

Meanwhile, some of the club’s stakeholders and fans met last Friday to brainstorm on how to chart the way forward for the club to win their remaining matches.
