The Rivers legislative rerun polls have commenced peacefully in the state with a massive turnout of voters.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, is conducting the election across three senatorial districts, eight federal constituencies and 10 state constituencies.
In Bera Ward 16, Gokana Local Government Area, the turnout was massive while the election materials arrived at 8.30am, local time.
“Card readers are working well in all the 16 polling units of Bera Ward 16 in local government area visited,’’ report says.
The accreditation and voting started simultaneously at exactly 9.11am in all the units of Bera Ward 16 and all the polling units in the local government were organised in the Community Secondary School, Bera.
Voters were coordinated under the heavy presence of the security operatives made-up of the Nigeria Police, Army, Navy, Air Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
