The National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, John Oyegun says the South-east region of Nigeria has been neglected, deprived and deceived in politics and national development.

Oyegun expressed believe that the time has come for the people of the region to reap the fruit of their labour, describing them as‘nation builders.’

He made the remark on Saturday while welcoming the immediate past Governor of Enugu State, Sullivan Chime to the APC.

“Chime joined the APC not because he is being hunted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC but because he is a good man with a large heart who has built strong political machinery worthy of emulation,’’ Oyegun stated.

The said with the former Governor’s defection to the APC, the South-east would be returned to the main stream of politics.

Addressing huge crowd, Sullivan Chime said he thought that he was attending the funeral of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP. He expressed regret that the APC national leader has postponed the burial of the once greatest party in Africa to a later date.

Chime urged the people of the region to keep broadcasting APC as the only functional party in Nigeria.
