The Kwara State government has approved the appointment of Coach John Sam Obuh as the new Technical Adviser for Kwara United Football Club.

In a statement by the state Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Pharmacist Kale Ayo, Obuh is to to take the club back to the Premier League.

He described Obuh as a qualified and highly experienced coach who is capable of bringing his experience to bear on the job.

The Commissioner urged him to work hard to justify the trust reposed in him by taking Kwara United to the next level.

Kale Ayo also charged stakeholders to work hand in hand with him so as to realize the expected goals of the club.

Coach Obuh’s appointment has reunited him with the Chairman of the Club, Prince Thompson Oladimeji, as they both worked together in 2008/2009 to lead the team from the National League to the Premier League.

His performance with Kwara United earned him the national U-17 team coaching opportunity.

He also graduated from there to coach the U-20 national team, the Flying Eagles.

It would be recalled that the former technical crew of the club, headed by Coach Tunde Abdulrahman was dissolved together with the management team, after their dismal performance that saw the team relegated to the National League.
