The Head Coach of Nigeria Super Sand Eagles, Audu Ejo, on Wednesday said that camping for the Beach Soccer World Cup in Belarus in April, would commence in March.
The coach said the World Cup is scheduled to hold in Belarus from April 27 to May 7 with Senegal and Nigeria representing Africa at the competition.
Brazil has been the most successful in the tournament since its inception in 1995, the Super Sand Eagles last appearance was at the 2015 edition in Portugal.
Ejo qualified for the team for the competition having secured the first runners-up position at the CAF beach soccer tournament in Lagos in December.
The coach said he would not introduce new players to the team but would rather focus on his current players.
“We have a great team that is committed that I won’t trade for experimenting, this is a World Cup, I can’t gamble with it.
“The competition is in April, so, I hope that on or before March, we can have enough time to prepare.
“We have confidence that with the support of our fans, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the Lagos State, we will make history.
“We are aware that this is the world stage and we don’t want to jeopardise our chances by not training early enough,’’ Ejo said.
