Security agencies mobilized to rescue kidnapped Osun officials

The Nigerian Government has alerted all security agencies nationwide towards the safe release of the three abducted officials of the Osun State.

The officials were kidnapped on Friday along Abuja-Lokoja road in Kogi State, Northern Nigeria.

They are the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Mrs. Adebimpe Ogunlumade; the Director, State Audit, Mr. Tajudeen Badejoko and their Driver, Mr. Oladapo Ajani Arogundade.

Preliminary findings indicate that the gunmen accosted the officials between Obajana and Lokoja, the Kogi State capital and forced them to stop before the officials were whisked away.

The officials were returning from Abuja where they attended the briefing of a World Bank and European Union programme on the State and Local Government Reforms Project.

A release signed by the Osun State Head of Service, Mr Sunday Owoeye appealsĀ  to Nigerians to provide relevant information that could lead to the immediate release of the kidnapped officials.
