The Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs has screened 34 ambassadorial nominees out of 47 sent to the Senate by President Muhammadu Buhari for confirmation.
The nominees, answered questions boardering on their qualification, expertise and what they would do to ensure bilateral relations between Nigeria and other countries if confirmed.
The Chairman of the committee, Sen. Monsurat Sunmonu, enjoined the remaining nominees to get to the venue of the screening as early as 10 a.m. on Thursday to enable the committee round off the screening.
She appreciated the Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Sen. Ita Enang, for presenting each of the nominees for screening.
Enang, commended the committee for taking out time despite the recess to ensure that the nominees were screened.
He commended them for spending over seven hours each of the days to ensure the success of the exercise.
President Buhari on Thursday, June 9, sent a list of 47 ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for its consideration and confirmation.
