Nigerian players William Troost-Ekong and Ibrahim Shuaibu played key roles in the Norwegian Cup game between Stord and FK Haugesund on Tuesday.
Both players started the game and were instrumental to Haugesund’s 8-1 win over a hapless Stord side.
Centre-back and captain of Haugesund, Troost-Ekong, scored in the game while former Giwa FC ofJos striker, Shuaibu, got a brace.
Filip Kiss scored early in the game for Haugesund while Sven Grov equalised for the hosts but the visitors ran riot after that.
Troost-Ekong restored the lead before Derrick Mensah, a Shuaibu brace and another brace by Kwame Kwarikwari completed the route either side of a Mads Graheim own goal.
Shuaibu, who starred for Giwa FC last season, teamed up with Haugesund in the winter window while Troost-Ekong is on loan to the club from Belgian side KAA Gent.
