The NSE equities market has sustained its positive upward trend for the second time this week.
The NSE All Share Index grew upon yesterday’s gain by 199.64 basis points or 0.59 percent to close at 33,797.84 basis points when compared to previous closing of 33,598.20 basis points.
The market capitalisation gained by 69 billion Naira or 0.59 percent to close at 11.687 trillion Naira as against previous closing of 11.618 trillion Naira.
In all, investors traded 5.7 million shares worth 7.8 billion Naira in 6,584 deals.
In today’s market activities, 33 stocks gained, 24 stocks depreciated while other stocks closed flat.
MAY & BAKER NIGERIA PLC again retained its top gainer position for the third consecutive time this week when it gained 0.37 kobo or 9.79 percent on its previous closing price of N3.78 per share to close at N4.15 per share.
SKYE BANK PLC came back to the top three gainers’ list to take over second position from ASHAKA CEM PLC when it closed at 0.69 kobo per share, gaining 0.06 kobo or 9.52 percent as compared to previous closing of 0.63 kobo per share.
UNILEVER NIGERIA PLC also retained its third top gainer position for the second time with a N2.30 or 5.65 percent gain on the previous closing price of N40.70 per share, to close at N43.00 per share.
CHAMPION BREW. PLC which had a previous closing price of N3.27 per share, closed today at N3.11 per share, falling by 0.16 kobo or 4.89 percent.
HONEYWELL FLOUR MILL PLC had a previous closing of N2.27 per share but closed today at N2.16 per share, falling by 0.11 kobo or 4.85 percent.
JAIZ BANK PLC had a previous closing price of 0.89 kobo but closed today at 0.85 kobo, falling by 0.04 kobo or 4.49 percent.
