Zamalek of Egypt lost 5-2 against Wydad Casablanca of Morocco on Saturday, but still qualified to meet Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa in the 2016 African Champions League final.
The first leg of the encounter in Alexandria ended 4- 0 in favour of the Egyptian team.
Zamalek qualified for the finals 6-5 on aggregate where they will play South African team Mamelodi Sundowns who knocked out Zesco United of Zambia 3- 2 on aggregate following a 2-0 win in South Africa.
Sundowns and Zamalek met in the group stage of the competition with the South Africans winning both meetings.
Zamalek last won the competition 14 years ago while Sundowns are looking to win it for the first time.
The Champions League winners will represent Africa at the Fifa Club World Cup in Japan in December.
