10th Assembly: Senator-elect, Alli, pledges quality representation
The Oyo South Senator-elect, Chief Sharafadeen Alli, has assured his constituents of quality representation in the National Assembly.
Alli, also a former Secretary to Oyo State Government and Maye-Balogun of Ibadanland, gave the assurance on Saturday in Ibadan while hosting newsmen.
The Oyo South Senatorial District comprises six local government areas in Ibadan and three from Ibarapa zone.
Alli defeated Chief Joseph Tegbe and Chief Kolapo Kola-Daisi at the last Feb.25 general election to emerge the senator-elect for the senatorial district.
Alli said that his promises segmented into legislative duties and constituency projects were aimed at alleviating sufferings of his constituents.
On legislative duties, he promised to vigorously pursue the upgrade of Igboora General Hospital to a Federal Medical Centre, saying that the hospital has enough facilities to give it a status of Federal Medical Centre.
The senator-elect also promised to begin sinking of boreholes in some parts of Ibarapa and Ibadan where people were currently experiencing lack of potable water.
He assured them of timely intervention on issues that brother on their welfare.
“My plan is never to rest on my oars. Yes, God has ensured our victory at the poll. I intend to fulfill my electioneering campaign promises to the people.
“I am very appreciative of the roles the media and my friends played in my emergence as senator-elect to represent people of Oyo South. I will never take your supports for granted.
“Yes, at some point, people asked how we would get money to run our electioneering project, but I have a big God who took control,” Alli said.
The senator-elect also promised to deploy his experience and goodwill with people of the senatorial district in discharging his legislative duties.
He, then urged the media to project his activities and also offer constructive criticisms where necessary.
“I am your friend and I believe you want me to succeed. Always keep me on my toes, because this first term as a senator, we must achieve great feats.
“I cannot do it alone. Let us do it together. We must not fail. We won because my team is comprises young vibrant men and women who are very committed to the project.
