Nigeria Police promises protection of foreigners

The Kano state command of the Nigeria Police says it will continue to guide and protect foreigners coming into the nation, especially those who are involved in legitimate businesses activities.

The State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Katsina gave the assurance while parading an eight man gang who kidnapped a kano based Indian business man, Dalbir Singh and later used him to gain access to BVS industries to perpetrate the act of robbery in the company.

Katsina explained that the ambush squad of the Nigeria police who were on patrol in the Challawa industrial layout where BVS is located, had an encounter with the gang leading to exchange of gun fire, death and arrest of members of the gang.

“At the end we killed three and arrested four while one is on the run with gunshot wound and we are appealing to the public to be vigilant and report anybody found with such wound.”

“We have today competent men and officers who are ready to risk their lives to create a peaceful environment,” the Commissioner of Police explained.

According to Katsina, over three Million Naira was recovered from the five Million Naira carted away by the robbers from the company.

He added that the gang used a 500 kilograms gas cylinder and chisel to break into the safe of the company to remove the money.

The syndicate whom cache of arms were recovered from, confessed to have been involved in the acts of terrorism, kidnapping, assassination and armed robbery across Nigeria especially the northern part.
