Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has extended his warmest felicitations to all the 14 illustrious sons from Adamawa State, Northeast Nigeria, conferred with the prestigious National Honours by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Apreciating the President for the National Honours, the Governor described it as evidence of the great potential of the people of Adamawa State.
The Nigerian National Award is conferred in recognition of outstanding or distinguished services rendered to the nation in various capacities and responsibilities.
The Governor said; “I hope this award will spur those of you honoured to do more for the growth and development of Nigeria. You have made your families and friends proud as expected. Congratulations.”
He assured the honourees that their selfless contributions in various fields would be immortalised in the history of the State and Nigeria.
Governor Fintiri said; “I believe and I feel that we are blessed by citizens and residents like you who have led by example and who continue to inspire the generation after you to be the very best that they can be. So I thank all of you, congratulate all of you and say to God be the glory that He has accorded us and provided us with exemplars like you.”
He described the honour as deserving to the Adamawa sons who have worked tirelessly to create a positive, productive, creative and welcoming environment in Nigeria.
“In doing so, you have shown responsibility, leadership and plenty determination from combating the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic, fight against illicit drug abuse and trafficking, the monster of insecurity, peace building and notable contributions to socio-economic development and the growth of education in Nigeria,” he said.
The honourees are Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Prof Maxwell Gidado, Chief Of Staff Adamawa State Government House, Mallam Muhammad Bello, Minister, Federal Ministry Of Federal Capital Territory, Maj. Gen. Paul Tarfa (Rtd), Chairman, Northeast Development Commission, HRM Dr. Daniel Samaila, Hama Bachama.
Others are Brig. Gen. Mohammed Marwa (Rtd), Chairman, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA),
Most Rev. Dr. Patti Musa, OFR, Archbishop of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria, Alhaji Sarki Abba, Personal Assistant to President Buhari On Domestic Affairs.
The list also includes; Prof. Ahmed Modibbo Mohammed, Pro-Chancellor, University Of Abuja, Alhaji Mahmud Bulama, Col. Andrawus Sawa (Rtd), Dr. Ismaila Marksha,
