2023: Anambra State Police reassures voters of hitch-free exercise

The Deputy Inspector General of Police, in charge of the Department of logistics and Supply of South East, DIG John Ogbonnaya Amadi, has reaffirmed the Command’s readiness to ensure hitch-free, peaceful and safe elections.

The DIG who stated this during an interaction with journalists after a tour of election security in the southeastern states, noted that the movement of sensitive materials has begun in the state and warned non-state actors to keep off and states that the election must hold in the Southeast.

He also charged the Strategic Commanders and officers deployed for the election to discharge their duties professionally and remain civil in their dealings with the public, especially the electorates and provide security and safety for all in their respective areas of assignment. “They are also to be alert, and vigilant to prevent untoward incidents or unforeseen developments”.

In attendance were the Assistant Inspector General of Police AIG Eboka Friday psc, DSSRS, Commissioner of Police Anambra State Police Command CP Echeng Echeng, CP Selem.V. Amachere, CP Julius.A. Okoro and some other senior officers.
