2023: APC Aspirants call for Direct Gubernatorial Primaries in Sokoto State

Two Sokoto State All Progressive Congress, APC Gubernatorial candidates, Senator Abubakar Gada and Balarabe Salame, have called on National Party to urgently grant their request to conduct direct governorship primaries in the State.

Senator Abubakar Gada said direct primaries would allow free, fair and credible exercise to take place without any form of litigations.

“We are aware that Sokoto State was among the several other states that requested for a direct primary due to unresolved issues in their respective states leadership.

“We are also aware that states like Osun, Abia and Benue has since been permitted to select their candidates through direct primaries.

“Therefore as matter of urgency we called on national working committee to graciously grant approval for Sokoto State as well,” Senator Gada said.

He said the party still have more time to visit their request and approve it to ensure fairness among the party aspirants.

Gada explained that the two aspirants resolve to keep away from the charade excercise about to take place in Sokoto State APC.

He said, “we make bold to submit that whatever happens in the course of this so called exercise cannot stand the test of the law, thereby putting the state chapter at the highest risk of nullification of whatever emulate.”

Senator Gada called on their party supporters to remain calm and law abiding pending the response of their request to National Working Committee of APC.
