The People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), is seeking support of voters in the Federal Capital Territory, (FCT), Abuja, to win the 2023 general election and empower it to fulfill all constitutional entitlements and appointments due the FCT.
Addressing supporters from the four area councils that make up the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar said “If what you have demanded requires constitutional review, we assure you that we shall support that constitutional review so that your aspirations are protected and guaranteed in our new constitution”.
Atiku reiterated his pledge to restructure the country and address demands of people in the nation’s capital, Abuja, “In the process of restructuring, we shall give you all that you are demanding. I want to assure you that, and I want to promise you that”.
He said if elected president he promises to unify the country and that every part of Nigeria will be given a sense of belonging. “No part will be sidelined, no part will be marginalised. That is how to bring a sense of unity into a country like Nigeria. We have pledged to restore security, it is very very essential that we give everybody peace: a farmer peace to go to the farm, a trader peace to trade, peace to everybody. It is only when there is peace that we can undertake our different aspirations”.
Nigeria having the highest number of out of school children, Atiku Abubakar said education will be a priority in addition to women and youth empowerment with the FCT first in line to feel the impact of his administration from May 29, 2023.
The former vice president called on eligible voters to collect their permanent Voter’s Card, (PVC), from the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), in order to vote the PDP in the up coming general election in 2023.
Vice Presidential candidate of the PDP and Delta State governor in southern Nigeria, Ifeanyi Okowa called on supporters to “go door to door, house to house, market to market and mobilize votes for the unifier Atiku Abubakar to become president and restore, recover and rebuild Nigeria”.
National Chairman of the PDP, Senator Iyorchia Ayu expressed the party’s appreciation to residents of the FCT for always voting the PDP and appealed to them not to relent in 2023 but continue with campaign to see Atiku and Okowa occupy Aso presidential villa from where they will change the economy for the good of all Nigerians.
“When Atiku Abubakar comes back as the president he will continue from where he stopped. He was the vice-president in charge of the national economy under former President Obasanjo he knows what to do. Return this country to the PDP and see what we will do for you”,said Senator Ayu.
Chairman of the Presidential Campaign Council Akwa Ibom State Governor, in Southern Nigeria, Udom Emmanuel describes Atiku as the man that can speak recovery to Nigeria’s economy and bring the country to international prominence. “We bring you the only man that is standing out among the rest, that is head high above all in terms of capacity, what he has done before. We are appealing to our youths go and collect your PVC, that is your power, use it to vote for PDP and Atiku”.
Director General of the campaign Council and Sokoto state Governor in northwest Aminu Tambuwal said the cap of leadership of Nigeria fits Atiku Abubakar who has the experience of governance at the National level and is very familiar with the issues of the FCT which he will address on assumption of office.
“Let me reassure you that this team being led by the unifier, is prepared from day one, to provide real leadership, for the reunification, for the restructuring, re-securing and for the recovery of Nigeria from all it’s challenges”.
Sole senator representating the FCT and is of the PDP Philip Aduda, flanked by PDP national assembly members from across the country promised to deliver votes of the FCT to Atiku abubakar in order to boost his chances of winning the election in 2023.
National Women leader of the PDP Professor Stella Effa- Atoe and the National Youth Leader Mohammed Suleiman urged Nigerian women and youth to support Atiku Abubakar with their votes in 2023 and be ready to reap the benefits in appointments as inclusion would be the hallmark of Atiku’s presidency.
Supporters of the PDP from the four area councils turned up in their numbers dressed in all kinds of party apparels to listen to their leaders, note their commitments and unwavering support for their political aspirations with a unified declaration to vote in PDP candidates from the presidency to state houses of assembly in the February and March general election in Nigeria.
