Governor of Kano state North-Western Nigeria, Dr. Umar Ganduje has officially endorsed his Deputy Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, as the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the state.
The immediate past Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, Murtala Sule Garo was also endorsed as Gawuna’s running mate, for the forthcoming 2023 general election in the ancient commercial city of Kano.
He made this known during a stakeholders meeting of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, held at Africa House, Government House, Kano.
He said the decision was unanimously taken after exhaustive deliberations with all the stakeholders of the party stressing that, all party procedures were followed before arriving at the position.
“This time around, my Deputy Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna is our choice for the gubernatorial seat come 2023 general election. “
“So also he will contest with Murtala Sule Garo as his running mate,” said the Governor.
He described Gawuna as a complete gentleman, reliable and loyal lieutenant who knows what is right and what is wrong.
“As a Deputy Governor, Gawuna makes good use of his office, a very loyal and dependable lieutenant,” he explained.
He equally described the deputy governor designated, Murtala Garo as a loyal and fearless confidant who is committed to course of the APC.
“This is a real Commander, who is loyal and committed to our cause. This is a very fearless confidant. If you want get clean and clear and political fight, you need somebody, who is energetic, loyal and fearless. This is Murtala Sule Garo for you,” he said.
