The Presidential candidate of the opposition New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso has confirmed the party and Labour Party, LP are in talks to create great alliance ahead of 2023 General elections.
Kwankwaso, former governor of Kano State, North Western Nigeria, stated this on Saturday during an interview with the BBC Hausa service.
He said; “We wish to inform Nigerians that our discussions with the presidential candidate Peter Obi and Labour Party are ongoing and the merger is significant owing to the fact that ruling All Progressive Congress, APC and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP did not consider South-east in picking their vice Presidential candidates which is not fair to them (South-East) in this 2023 election.”
The NNPP flag-bearer said; “It is true we are talking with Peter Obi and a committee was formed to look at how the merger will work between us.
“We are looking into the matter to see how we can cooperate with him and also now that family and friends have also been talking to us about that possibility.”
