An aspirant for the National Chairmanship of the Nigerian governing party, the All-Progressives Congress, APC has promised to lead the party to victory in the coming general election if elected.

Senator Abdullahi Adamu, from Nasarawa State, stated the pledge during a meeting with the APC Caucus of the House of Representatives at the National Assembly, Abuja.

Senator Adamu said going around the country to reconcile aggrieved party members has given him firsthand knowledge of the party’s problems, and he is ready to face the challenge.

“I was privileged to lead the national reconciliation committee of our great party, and there was a kind of coincidence in time.

“While people were busy declaring and presenting themselves for the chairmanship, I was busy trying to reconcile conflicts within and amongst our leaders and members across the country,” Sen Adamu added.

The Deputy Speaker House of Representatives Ahmed Idris Wase said Senator Adamu has an excellent task of rebuilding the party if emerged the National Chairman of the party.

Wase said, “I believe (that) you have the capacity; I believe you are going to solve all the problems; I believe you will deliver us to the next level. That I believe.”

In a remark, the House Majority Leader, AlHassan Ado-Doguwa, described Senator Adamu as a bridge-builder and a good ambassador of the parliament, an institution pledged to work with whoever emerged as National Chairman for the development of Nigeria’s democracy.

The visit to the House of Representatives on Tuesday is coming eleven days to the APC National Convention expected on the 26th of March. The National Executives would have emerged to take over from the Mai-Mala Buni caretaker committee leading the party since 2020.
