2023 Elections: Okupe resigns as DG Labour Party Presidential Campaign Organisation

The Director General of Labour party Presidential Campaign Organisation Dr. Doyin Okupe has resigned amid money laundry allegations.
Dr. Okupe said he will not allow his “personal travails to become a source of distractions” to the party.
In his resignation letter made available to journalists, Dr. Okupe wrote that he “will continue to seek justice and clear his name using the Nigerian Legal System to pursue the same.”
Dr Okupe who opted to step aside pleaded that “a new Campaign DG should be appointed who can continue the assignment with zero distractions.”
The Federal High Court Abuja had found Mr Doyin Okupe, who is currently the campaign Director General of Labour Party, LP, guilty of receiving over N200 million cash from former National Security Adviser (NSA) Col. Sambo Dasuki without going through financial institution.
He was found guilty of violating Nigeria’s money laundering Act.
