A few hours before the Presidential and National Assembly Election in Nigeria, the Enugu State Independent National Electoral Commission says all the election materials needed to ensure hitch-free exercises have been distributed to the 17 local government areas.

The Head of the Department of Voters Education and Publicity, Mr Rex Achume who stated this, added that a total of 2,112,793 were registered for the Presidential and National Assembly election.

He also said that ” although there had been pockets of violence in some part of the state the security agencies have assured both the Commission and the voters that they would do all things possible to ensure peaceful polls.”

Also, the Head of Department, Election Party Monitoring and Observance, Mrs Ginika Nwankwo told Voice of Nigeria that “all observance kits for Party agents have been distributed to all the political parties and that the observers have equally picked up their tags for the exercise.”

Mrs Nwankwo further stated that security measures have been put in place in all the local governments to ensure a peaceful conduct of the election.

She urged the voters not to worry about their safety as adequate measures have been adopted by the security personnel.

She however encouraged them to come out and vote for their preferred candidates.
