The first Batch of 272 Pilgrims for the 2023 Hajj from Kwara State, North Central Nigeria has arrived safely back home.
The pilgrims departed Jeddah International Airport on Tuesday evening via Air Peace and landed at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos where they were later airlifted to the Ilorin International Airport at exactly 9:53 am on Wednesday.
The first batch team was led by the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Imam Mohammed. Bashir, the NAHCON Zonal Coordinator for Kwara, Ondo, and Ekiti State, Ibrahim Fijabi and the immediate past Secretary to the Kwara State Government, Mamman Saba Jibril.
It would be recalled that 3,740 pilgrims were airlifted through the state Pilgrims Welfare Board during this year’s hajj exercise from the state.
Arrangements are in top gear for the early arrival of the second batch and other pilgrims from the state from the holy land.
