The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) contingent on this year’s Muslims Pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, has successfully participated alongside millions of other pilgrims across the globe, prayed at Mount Arafat as enshrined in the doctrine of one of the pillars of Islam, Hajj.
The FCT contingent left Mina early and arrived at Mount Arafat to observe this very important rite of the pilgrimage.
In a statement signed by the Director of Information and Communication of the FCTA, Mohammed Sule Hazat, and made available to journalists said the Chairman of the FCT Ministerial Team to the 2023 Hajj, Mallam Bashir Muhammad, has been closely monitoring the FCT contingent.
Muhammad urged the pilgrims to pray for Nigeria and its new leadership.
The Chairman further urged the pilgrims to also pray for peace to continue to reign in our dear country, Nigeria, and for our security agencies to rid the nation of criminal activities including terrorism and banditry.
He asked the FCT pilgrims to further pray for the country’s growth and development as well as economic prosperity.
The Chairman commended the National Hajj Commission for acting promptly on the inadequate provision of tents for the operation, which is being addressed by the Saudi Arabian authorities.
The Chairman said the FCT contingent have continued to exhibit good conduct which is expected of them as the good Ambassadors of Nigeria while in the Holy Land.
Muhammad revealed that arrangements are in top gear to ensure a seamless movement of FCT pilgrims from Arafat to Mudzalifa this evening.
