The Young Progressive Party (YPP) Senatorial Standard Bearer, Mr.Julius Igwebuike Okoye, has expressed his readiness to unseat Senator Stella Odua from the red carpet chamber during the 2023 general elections in the State.

Mr.Okoye, who made this known to journalists in Awka, assured the people that he is very serious about the 2023 general elections projects, having seen what had been happening in the senatorial district over the years.

Vying to correct misrepresentations

He said the people representing the senatorial district over the years in the National Assembly were not doing the right things. Hence his burning desire to contest for the Senatorial seat to correct the wrongs they have done to the people and attend to things left unattended.

He stated that, if elected as a Senator, his priorities would center on road construction and periodic convening of town hall meetings to ascertain the pressing needs of his constituents. Also, he would solve them squarely in the area by local government.

The YPP Standard Bearer noted that each local government has a peculiar problem since most are peasant farmers and fishermen.

While others were into business, he maintained that he needed to go into the villages in the Anambra North District to identify their problems and solve them head-on.

“What I want to do as elected Senator is to go into the street and study the system and asked the people what they want, he added.”

PVC as the panacea

While describing politics as a game of numbers, Mr. Okoye opined that if he finally emerged the winner in the general elections, he would do wonderful things for the people of the zone.

He points out that he has been hammering on the importance of the permanent Voters Card(PVC) as the only ticket for the people to exercise their franchise of casting their votes on the election day to effect the positive change desired in the area.
