The Ekiti State governor in Southwest Nigeria, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has officially declared his intention to contest for presidency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
He made the declaration at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja in the company of his wife, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, APC Governorship aspirant, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, members of the State House of Assembly and members of the State’s traditional rulers.
Governor Fayemi said after wide consultations he decided to contest for the APC ticket because he had a well-thought agenda for Nigeria.
While listing out his plans to develop the country, he noted that it could only be achieved if the government’s planning system was well developed.
With this declaration, Governor Fayemi will compete for the APC presidential ticket with many other aspirants such as Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello; Ebonyi State governor, Dave Umahi; national leader of the APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu; a former governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha; Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chris Ngige; Cross River State governor, Ben Ayade and others at the presidential primary.
