2023 Presidency: Governor Wike consults Ex-Nigerian President, Governors

Governor of Rivers State, South-South Nigeria, Nyesom Wike, and three other governors visited the former military President of Nigeria, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, for ongoing nationwide consultation on his 2023 Presidential ambition.
The Abia State governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, on behalf of the visiting governors, mentioned that the visit was to consult on national issues and the country’s economic development.
According to him, “We commended General Babangida for supporting the unity journey of this country. The discussions went very well and we will take it from there.”
Ikpeazu said that the former military President expressed concern and his expectation for the younger generation to take up the baton of leadership and rescue Nigeria.
Others on the entourage to the military President include the Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Oyo state Governor, Abiodun Makinde, and former Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam.
Wike’s delegation earlier visited former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar.
