The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB has approved a total of 600 centres for the conduct of 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations UTME out of over 800 that applied.
The Board also assured of a hitch-free 2023 admission exams, saying the UTME scheduled to begin on 14th of February would not clash with the general election.
The Registrar of JAMB, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, made these known in Lagos State, during a meeting with Commissioners of Education.
Professor Oloyede also assured of a hitch-free 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination UTME.
According to the JAMB Registrar, “the meeting was held to brief the commissioners on JAMB’s level of preparedness and sought their support.
“The numbers of centres approved is 140 less than the total number used for the exercise in 2022.
“Due to this, a sharp drop is expected in the number of personnel that would be engaged,” the registrar said.
He promised to tackle most of the challenges recorded during the conduct of the past examinations.
“The establishment of world-class Computer Based Test, CBT centres nationwide was discussed,” he added.
