2025 Hajj: FCT Pilgrims Welfare Board Set For Medical Screening

The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has concluded plans to commence medical screening for intending pilgrims on Saturday, April 12, and Sunday, April 13.

The inoculation exercise for all intending pilgrims is scheduled for Saturday, April 19, and Sunday, April 20, 2025, as part of the requirements for the trip to Saudi Arabia.

The Director of the Board, Malam Kadiri Edah who disclosed this in Abuja stated that activities have been outlined to actualise the success of the operation and ensure that intending pilgrims are well prepared for the spiritual journey to the holy land of Saudi Arabia.

Edah advised intending pilgrims who have made complete payment to utilise the opportunity to drive the benefit of performing the Hajj.

He further explained that “the Board has also resumed preparations for 2025 hajj after fasting of the Islamic month of Ramadan with orientation exercise scheduled for Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th April 2025.”

Edah said that “the Board would ensure that intending pilgrims get the rudiments of performing hajj, to perform the religious obligations.”

According to him “as usual, Islamic scholars and relevant stakeholders have already been mobilized for the exercise scheduled to take place from 8 am each day at the permanent Hajj Transit Camp, located at Basan Jiwa very close to Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport Abuja.”

He further said that the orientation exercise this weekend would focus more on the new system of grouping of pilgrims, Transportation system and NUSUk policy, among others.

Edah disclosed that relevant stakeholders such as Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and official air carrier (Flynas) are scheduled to deliver lectures on the modalities and all issues that have to do with the journey to Saudi Arabia.

He also disclosed that the final phase of education and orientation exercise which involves practical would be held on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th April few days before the commencement of airlift to Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj.

Edah advised intending pilgrims to participate in all activities earmarked by the Board for proper guidance for the success of the exercise.

He therefore called on intending pilgrims who are yet to submit their International Passports or completed application forms to do so, as the Board has since commenced the process of procurement of visa for the trip.
