Several Super Eagles players have arrived at the team’s camp in Uyo ahead of its 2026 World Cup qualifying match against Lesotho and Zimbabwe, respectively.

Jose Peseiro, the head coach of the Nigerian team, selected 23 players for the match that is scheduled for February 16 and February 19, respectively, in Uyo and Kigali.

It is anticipated that all of the invited players will be present later today for the start of training and thorough game preparation.

Kenneth Omeruo, who will captain the team in the absence of Ahmed Musa and William Troost Ekong, is leading the invited players to camp.

Left-back Jamilu Collins, who arrived early in the Uyo camp, discusses his thoughts on the Super Eagles’ impending challenge as they prepare for the World Cup qualifying round.

Collins says he is happy with the environment and highlights the team’s enthusiasm for the upcoming adventure.

There is a general expectation of atonement because of recollections of Nigeria’s elimination from the most recent World Cup.

Collins offers a perspective centred on completing the current task and making up for previous errors.

He is appreciative of the fans’ continuous support and praises the enduring support of Nigerians.

Collins downplays the idea of competitiveness within the team, focusing instead on a common objective as he enters a competitive atmosphere for the left-back position.

Assuring supporters that every player called up to represent the nation is enthusiastic and ready to give it their all, Jamilu Collins reflects the team’s enthusiasm.

The excitement is increased by the possibility of performing in front of Nigerian supporters.

Speaking directly to the supporters, Collins thanks them for their ongoing support and asks them to keep it up.

Collins’ comments, as the Super Eagles set out on yet another World Cup qualifying campaign, represent not only the viewpoint of a single player but also a common dedication to achievement and pride in the country.
