UK nominates Nigerian Cybersecurity Expert as Personality of the Year

A Nigerian cybersecurity expert, Fene Osakwe has been nominated as the Cybersecurity Personality of the Year in the United Kingdom.

In a congratulatory message, the Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa described the prestigious recognition as a testament to Osakwe’s exceptional contributions to the field of cybersecurity.

“As the first African to be nominated for this award, Osakwe’s accomplishment serves as an inspiration to Nigerians and Africans around the world”, she stated.

Dabiri-Erewa expressed her delight to see a Nigerian excel on the global stage, demonstrating that Nigerians can compete and excel at the highest levels.

The NiDCOM Boss added “We are delighted to see Dr Fene Osakwe’s hard work and dedication recognised in this way. His achievement is a shining example of the talent and expertise that Nigerians possess, and we look forward to celebrating his success.”

NiDCOM joins the Osakwe family, friends, and colleagues in congratulating him on this outstanding achievement and wished him continued success in his future endeavours.

The award established in 2014, recognises outstanding individuals, teams, and organisations within the global cybersecurity sector.

Osakwe is the sole African nominee in this category competing alongside leaders from 11 other countries.

He is a multi award global winning cybersecurity professional, career mentor and best selling author.

The award ceremony, scheduled to take place in March, will be attended by the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, further underscoring the significance of this achievement.
