The Commander of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Ebenezer Oduyebo, decorated newly promoted officers to the rank of Captain on July 28, 2025, at the Tiger 4 Officer Mess in Benin City.
According to Captain Yahaya Almustapha, Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations, 4 Brigade, the event was attended by senior officers, friends, families of the beneficiaries, and staff officers of 4 Brigade Headquarters.
During the ceremony, Brigadier General Oduyebo congratulated the newly promoted officers, reminding them that promotion is not only a reward for past performance but also a challenge to live up to greater responsibilities.
He emphasised the importance of maintaining regimentation, professionalism, and achieving good grades in military courses.
The Commander also expressed appreciation to the families of the celebrants for their unwavering support, noting that their role provides the officers with emotional stability and the will to perform their duties as leaders.
In a vote of thanks, Captain Yusuf Ozegya, on behalf of his colleagues, expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff and the entire Army leadership for deeming them worthy of promotion.
He assured that the newly promoted officers would continue to give their best to the system and uphold the core values of the Nigerian Army.
The ceremony featured words of advice to the newly decorated officers, a vote of thanks, and group photographs.
