Clerics pray for Kaduna Governor’s success

The Kaduna State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has extended its overwhelming support for Governor Uba Sani, pledging prayers for his success due to his administration’s commitment to inclusivity and communal development.

Rev. Caleb Ma’aji, the Kaduna State Chairman of CAN, made this declaration during an Iftar dinner hosted by Governor Sani for clergy and senior Christian leaders at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House.

Rev. Ma’aji praised the Governor for his inclusive policies that aim to integrate various segments of Kaduna State in the governance process, allowing each community to contribute to the state’s development.

He remarked, “The difference between this administration and the last one is clear,” affirming that Sani’s leadership has instilled hope among Christians in the region.

“Your leadership has become our prayer point. We will never stop praying for you until your good becomes better, and your better becomes the best,” Ma’aji stated, emphasizing the importance of continuous support for the Governor.

Reflecting on recent interactions, the CAN Chairman recalled that Governor Sani attended the Christmas Carol in Kaduna for the first time in 2023, he promised upheld his  returning for the event in the following year. “You showed us love and even supported us. We thank you very much.”

Rev. Ma’aji further shared that the Governor expressed excitement about participating in next year’s carol, humorously stating he wants to “eat rice and drink Fanta with his people.”

In a show of solidarity, Rev. Joseph  Hayab, Chairman of CAN for the 19 Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory, prayed for the longevity of life for attendees to reciprocate the Governor’s kindness.

He echoed the sentiments of praise for Sani’s leadership, noting that under his governance, Kaduna’s narrative is being positively reshaped.

In response, Governor Uba Sani conveyed his gratitude to the Christian leaders for the Iftar gathering and reaffirmed his commitment to restoring Kaduna State’s lost glory.

He shared insights into his administration’s endeavors to address the longstanding ethno-religious crises and security challenges faced by the state.

The Governor reiterated that his approach to governance has been rooted in justice, fairness, and equity, which he believes are essential for overcoming the state’s issues.

“I have been fair to every part of the state since I assumed office,” he said, revealing that development projects are ongoing across all 23 local governments, including road construction, school building, and hospital rehabilitation.

Concluding his remarks, Governor Sani expressed determination to transform Kaduna State into a model of peaceful coexistence, recognizing its unique role as the political and religious capital of Northern Nigeria.
