The 5th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the ECOWAS Trade Promotion Organisation (TPO) kicks off, in Abuja, Nigeria, with a focus on improving the effectiveness of trade facilitation system and integration in the region.
In her welcome speech, the ECOWAS Commissioner for Economic Affairs and Agriculture, Massandjé Toure-Litse, who was represented by the ECOWAS Commission, Director of Trade, Mr. Kolawole Sofola said: the AGM marks another milestone in our collective journey toward fostering trade, deepening market integration, and reaffirming our shared commitment to the vision of an “ECOWAS of the Peoples: Peace and Prosperity for All,” as articulated in our ambitious Vision 2050”, she said
Officially declaring the AGM open, the President, ECOWAS TPO Network, Mr. Modou Mbéne Gueye,
emphasized the importance of collaboration within the region.
“By joining forces, sharing best practices, and pooling our resources, we can improve the effectiveness of our trade facilitation systems, provide greater support to our companies in accessing export markets, and co-create innovative solutions in digital trade, regional logistics, and business networking,” he stated.
