By: Asma'u Halilu, Kaduna
A Veteran Journalist, Alhaji Tajudeen Tijani, advocates for the revival of moribund industries across the country for the purpose of providing employment.
The Veteran, who worked with many reputable media organizations said, revitalization of the Industries will reduce poverty and criminal vices in the country.
Alhaji Tajudeen disclosed that, the restoration of the moribund industries will stimulate other sectors of the economy and also develop skilled manpower in the country.
The Veteran opined that, industrialization encourages division of labor and automatic growth in technological innovations.
“Once the people in the semi unbar and rural areas are engaged in different production processes, all other vices will vanish automatically and normalcy will return to our various societies”.
He further spoke on the need for government to provide security for agricultural production to strive especially in Northern Nigeria.
The Veteran said that, the agricultural sector provides opportunities for economic equity and helps people prosper around the world.
“It plays the role of providing employment, income, food, raw materials and foreign exchange earnings for people.”
“Today Malaysia is the biggest producer of palm kennel which they got from Nigeria. We cannot boast of producing enough that Nigerians can consume, talk less export it”.
Speaking about the present administration, Tajudeen said though the policies of President Ahmed Tinubu are perceived as harsh, but if implemented, it will benefit the nation in the long-run.
He attributed some of the challenges being experienced in the country to some of the bad decisions taken by past administrations.
Tajudeen however spoke on the resuscitation of the category of the middle class citizens which no longer exist in the country.
According to him, there use to be three categories of citizens, lamenting that, due to bad leadership, only the upper and lower class of citizens exist in Nigeria, there by inflicting sufferings in the ordinary Nigerian.
“The sooner government implements it’s policies and provide enabling environment and opportunities for the average Nigerian, the better. There is a wide gap between the poor and the rich, to the extent that, many rural dwellers have relocated to the citizens for better livelihood and unfortunately, this has increased crime rate and other vices in the society”.
He called on government to restore macroeconomic stability by increasing non-oil revenue and also reducing inflation through coordinated mix trade for citizens.
Tajudeen called on government at all levels to ensure minimized importation of goods and instead, encourage exportation out of Nigeria through revitalization of industries.
He advised government to be committed in it’s efforts of protecting the poor and vulnerable citizens for purpose of sense of belonging.
