6th Edition Of Mining Week to Open In Abuja

The Minster of Mines and Steel Development has advised stakeholders to provide measures that will attract miners across the World to Nigeria, as the Ministry is set to hold the 6th Edition of Mining week.

Olamilekan Adegbite gave the advice in Abuja ahead of a three-day Mining week starting on 1st to 3rd November, in the nation’s capital Abuja.

Adegbite said; “the event of this year is titled Successes and Achievement in the Nigerian Mining Sector and we are going to highlight some of the achievements recorded so far. 

One of the major issue to be discussed is the concern about the environment as the world is going greener and if you want to go green, you need renewable energy and the materials for all these require solid mineral such as Cooper, Aluminum and lithium to achieve the set goals.”

The Minister also assured Nigerians of adequate security at the event.

He said; “As the count down to the 2022 Nigeria Mining Week begins, the Nigerian Government has assured investors and stakeholders that Abuja is absolutely safe to host the 2022 Nigeria Mining Week.”

He said there was huge investment in the Mining sector and encouraged Nigerians to be part of the planned programme.

The three-day Mining week has core sponsors such as PWC, VUKA GROUP and Titans. The event is organised by the Miners Association of Nigeria in conjunction with the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development
