UFC: Yusuff returns to Octagon after 11 months
Nigerian Ultimate Fighting Championship star, Sodiq Yusuff, is set to return to the Octagon for the first time in 11 months when he faces Alex Caceres in a featherweight match up on March 12 at a venue yet to be named.
Yussuf, who suffered his first UFC loss to British fighter Arnold Allen in April 2021, will look to return to a more active schedule after only competing once in 2020 and 2021 respectively.
His loss to Allen was his first in the UFC and second in his MMA career, having lost to Luis Gomez in the Titan Fighting Championship back in 2017. He currently holds a record of 11 wins and two losses.
Before his loss, he had enjoyed a six-fight win streak.
However, his opponent is in better form. Caceres will enter the bout on a five-fight win streak – the longest of his professional career.
“Bruce Leeroy” as he is fondly called, capped off his second straight unbeaten year with a comeback second-round submission win over Seung Woo Choi at October’s UFC Vegas 41 event.
Caceres, who holds a 19 wins, 12 losses MMA record, last lost a fight in 2019 to Kron Gracie.
According to reports, both fighters have agreed to the terms of the fight.
