Group pledges to support Nigeria’s anti-corruption campaign

An Islamic group in Nigeria known as Al-Habibiyyah Islamic Society has pledged to support the Nigerian government’s anti-corruption campaign.

The Executive Director of the Al-Habibiyyah Islamic society, Imam Fuad Adeyemi made the pledge at its 19th years anniversary which was marked with lectures and prayers in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

Imam Adeyemi, also said the group would expand its programmes of Islamic propagation and religious tolerance

He commended the efforts of some members of the group for the past nineteen years, saying that the group has achieved numerous projects through the support of MacAthur foundation and other donors for human development.

“The Al-Habibiyyah Islamic society is waxing stronger in the past Nineteen Years in providing Islamic education, welfare programmes to inter-faith, religious tolerance, fighting corruption, and unity in the country,” Imam Fuad Adeyemi explained

The National Vice President Al-Habibiyyah Islamic Society of Nigeria, Mr Farouk Suleiman said that the group has metamorphosed into some projects that support Youth and Women for the benefits of humanity.

Mr Suleiman explained that; “Our missions this year is the completion of the Jumma’t Mosque, advocacies of Zakat, assisting the needy, and other humanitarian assistance.”

Meanwhile, a member of the organization, Major General Abbas Adekanye noted that Al-Habibiyyah has become a rallying point of all faiths through various inter-faith programmes and assisting the government in its fight against corruption as well as unity in the country.

“Alhababiyyah Islamic Society has achieved a lot, it is the first Islamic organization in Nigeria that takes care of the needy especially during the month of Ramadan, building Jumma’t Mosque, inter-faith programme, Zakat Foundation, training of Imams in carrying out anti-corruption crusade, drug addiction, trafficking in collaboration with National Drugs and Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA, he added.

Al-Habibiyyah Islamic Society is a religious group dedicated to the service of Allah through Islamic teaching, mentorship, skill development training of Nigerian youths.

The group promotes social services, street-to-school programme for Almajiris, empowers Artisan with interest-free loans, travel and tours for Hajj and Umrah, as well as promotes interfaith Cohesion.

The organization which started in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja now has presence in Kogi, Niger, Sokoto, Kebbi, Osun, Oyo, Lagos and Kaduna states.
