Kano State Governor, Dr. Umar Ganduje has urged serving Nigerian Armed Forces to rise to the challenges of insecurity in the country and rid the nation of criminals.
He made the call after laying the wreath at the Armed Forces and Remembrance Day commemoration in Kano state North Western Nigeria.
Ganduje described the security challenges in the country as worrisome thereby called for further prompt action by serving personnels.
“I urge security personnels to work diligently in ensuring that security challenges were being curtailed,” the Governor said.
On the commemoration, Ganduje said with the regard being given to the past heroes, the security operatives in Nigeria will take their responsibility diligently.
“There is no doubt this is a day we should be remembering every year. I congratulate the organizers for organizing the event for the last seven days and everything is concluded today.”
“The importance of this day is to remember those who fought the civil wars and also who fought the Nigerian civil war so as to keep Nigeria one. There is no doubt we are benefitting from what they did in the past and therefore it is worthwhile to remember them” he said.
The governor after due processes to mark the commemoration, laid the wreath at the military cenotaph located near Naibawa flyover, along Kano – Zaria highway.
