Wizkid Postpones ‘Made In Lagos’ Canada Tour

Afrobeats star, Wizkid, has announced the indefinite postponement of his Made In Lagos Canada tour. 

The singer, in a post on Twitter stated that the scheduled stops for the tour would no longer proceed in January as planned. 

“Due to existing and public health measures being introduced by the Canadian Government, I will no longer be able to perform my Canadian shows in January. I’m looking forward to returning as soon as possible,” he tweeted.

In July, Wizkid announced dates for his Made in Lagos tour of North American countries; the United States and Canada.

Released in October 2020, Made In Lagos has received international recognition. Barely one year since its release, the album hit one billion streams across all streaming platforms.

Essence off the album featuring Tems made history as the first Nigerian song on the Billboard Hot 100; and Global 200 music chart in July.

The remix of the single featuring Justin Bieber sits at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard world digital song sales chart.

Made In Lagos debuted number two on the world album chart and spent a total of 41 weeks on the chart. It is also the first African album to debut on the Spotify Global Album chart at the top ten position.
