State Coordinator drums up support for NYSC Trust fund

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Lagos State, South- West Nigeria Coordinator, Mr. Eddy Megwa has appealed to well meaning Nigerians to support the scheme’s Management to get the nod of the Federal government for the establishment of the all important NYSC Trust Fund that is presently before the National Assembly. He made the appeal during a courtesy call on the General Manager of the National Theatre, Professor Sunday Ododo in his office on Thursday 20th January 2022.

According to Megwa, the Trust Fund  if signed into law, will in no small way help the scheme to take care of the large number of prospective  corps members that are mobilised for national service yearly.

 

He further used the visit to call on the Management of the  National Theatre to join the vanguard and support the noble objectives of the scheme in the state.

The NYSC Coordinator used the occasion to thank the State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo Olu for his assistance to the scheme by creating  a conducive work environment to the large number of corps members in the state.

He particularly appreciated the  for his gesture of constructing an ultra modern 14,000  capacity Orientation Camp for Corps members deployed to do Orientation and serve in the state.

 

Responding, the General Manager, National Theatre, Professor Sunday Ododo thanked the NYSC boss whom he described as a friend, brother and professional colleague for the visit that is vital to both organisations. Professor Ododo who graduated from the same department of performing arts with  the NYSC Lagos Coordinator  at the university of Ilorin, Kwara State, as a senior alumnus said his organisation is ready to partner with the NYSC Scheme in Lagos especially in building up the NYSC Lagos cultural troop. Professor Ododo while reminiscing said NYSC  actually brought out the creativity in him way back in the old Gongola State and described the Scheme as a noble one. Pictures below:
