As the train of familiarisation cum strategic engagement of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun moved to Ifelodun Federal Constituency, the Olokuku of Okuku, Oba Samuel Abioye Oyebode Oluronke, has said that the quest to reelect Governor Oyetola for the second term must not be an option but a necessity given the tremendous achievements he has made in the last three years.

Oba Oluronke, who described Oyetola as his own, said apart from the fact that the Governor is from his Federal Constituency, his sterling performance and blueprints spanning across sectors are enough to earn him a second term.

The Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdul-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, the Elende of Eko-Ende, Oba Olaniyan Abdul-Rauf and other monarchs in the constituency promised to mobilise their subjects massively for the Governor to actualise his dream.

Speaking in his palace, Oluronke said the Governor had paid his dues to be returned for a second term, saying the royal fathers across the towns and villages would deploy all within their powers to back him towards the actualisation of his ambition.

Oba Oluronke, the Chairman of the Odo-Otin Council of Traditional Rulers, said the entire Local Government is for the Governor and his party, just as he pledged their readiness to put his ambition in prayer and supplication.

“We thank you for your excellent job, particularly your relentless efforts on security, health, education and the prompt payment of workers’ salaries and pensions.

“We thank you for the ongoing transformation across sectors. We pray God to continue to spare your life and give you divine wisdom, knowledge and understanding to continue to steer the ship of the State to the Promised land.

“You are our own, no other place to go. We are from the same constituency. We are loyal sons and daughters of the land. The entire constituency is for you and your government, as seen in the presence of all the traditional rulers and high chiefs in all the towns and villages in Odo-Otin Local Government.

“The monarchs are for you. We will do everything possible to support you and your ambition. I pray God that your intention to run for the second term will come to pass,” the monarch said.

Speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers in Ifelodun Local Government, Oba Abdul-Rauf, reaffirmed their loyalty and solidarity to the Governor.

He said the traditional rulers in the council had taken a position to work collectively to ensure the return of the Governor, who he said had performed creditably well. In his remarks, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdul-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, said the re-election of Governor Oyetola had been sealed.

He said the people of Boripe Local Government had begun a door-to-door campaign for the Governor before his official visit to the palace, adding that no stone would be left unturned to ensure his return.

The monarchs spoke on behalf of the traditional rulers in the council. They said the Governor’s visit had renewed the fervent prayers of the royal fathers in the council just as he urged the monarchs not to be distracted or relent in their morals and spiritual support for the Governor.

Some of the traditional rulers in attendance at the Aragbiji’s palace took turns to pray vehemently for the Governor and his government just as they threw their weights behind him.

Addressing the people at the palaces of the monarchs and venues of the programme where his admirers and supporters were already assembled, Governor Oyetola expressed gratitude to the people of the State, particularly leaders and members of his party, for their continued love and prayers, saying their support has been the motivation and encouragement for him to continue to do great.

Oyetola, who lauded the traditional rulers and high chiefs whose warmth reception since the beginning of his tour across the local government areas in the State has been unprecedented, said that their actions were indications of the level of his acceptance.

He called on the people of the State, particularly the party leaders and members, to remain steadfast and focused as the governorship primary approaches.

Governor Oyetola reiterated the visit was to strengthen the existing unity and cohesion in the party, just as it was also calculated at interfacing, familiarizing and interacting with the party loyalists, particularly the newly elected executives.
